  connects a subject (noun/pronoun) and an
  adjective.

• Am, are, is, was, were
• Appear, become, feel, look, grow, seem, smell,
  taste, may be, will be, have been
• (Complete list on page 99 in your textbook)

Linking Verbs

• Replace verb with is, are, or am to see if it
  makes sense. If it does, then it is a linking
  verb.
• He feels tired.
• Mark appears sad.
