• Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University
  is going to organize a six days Workshop on Nano
  and Advanced Materials and Their Applications
  (WONAMA-2012) during 10-16 April, 2012 under
  UGC Networking Programme.
• AIMS OF WORKSHOP
• To sensitize and expose M.Sc. Students, research
  scholars and young faculty members of UGC
  recognized Universities and Colleges, in the
  filed of Nano and Advanced Materials
• To encourage them to continue their research in
  these areas through collaboration with the
  Physics Networking Centre
• FOCUSSED AREAS
• Introduction to Nanomaterials Nano Metal
  Particles and their applications, carbon
  nanostructures carbon nanotubes, nanofibres,
  graphene and their nano versions,
  Quasicrystalline materials and structures
  property correlations Nano oxide Materials
  ZnO, TiO2 and other oxide Nanomaterials
  Nanomaterials for Energy Security and
  Applications Nanomaterials for Green Technology
  Hydrogen Storage and Photoelectrode Materials,
  Magnetic Materials Colossal Magnetoresistance
  Materials Synthesis and structure property
  correlations, Luminescent Materials, Glassy
  materials (Chalcogenides) their synthesis,
  structural and physical property
  characterizations Topological Insulators
  Definition, synthesis of Ti Materials,
  Introduction to Physics of topological materials.
  

Call for Participation
Applications are invited from Ph.D. students,
Post Doctoral Fellows and Young Faculty Members
for participation in the Workshop. The interested
candidates are requested to apply by email (or by
post) giving detailed academic bio-data to the
Convener/Secretary. Ph.D. and post-doc students
are required endorsement from the supervisor (by
e-mail). The selected candidates will be provided
boarding/ lodging and to and fro travel support
(SL for students and AC-III for young faculty
respectively). The Last date of Application is 24
March 2012.
