  • Dear Parents
  • Welcome to the 2012-13 Roseville Joint Union High
School District Athletic Programs. We look
forward to another great year of participation
from our students. We fully expect to continue
the traditions of competitive play, outstanding
sportsmanship and personal growth for all
students who participate in athletics at our
    schools.
  • In past years our athletic programs have
flourished. Athletics allow a large number of
our students to be positively connected to their
high school experience and can open the door to
    potential college opportunities and lifelong
enrichment. As you may know, the State's funding
of public schools has been reduced significantly.
Since the 2008-09 school year, RJUHSD has seen
reductions in state funding exceeding 10
million. For the 2012-13 school year, the
District faces continued budget challenges and
uncertainties. In order to sustain our athletic
programs across the District, we are requesting
an Athletic Contribution from all students
participating in athletics for the 2012-13 school
year. The Athletic Contribution is voluntary,
and your supportive donation will allow our
athletic programs to continue as they have in the
past. Without substantial ongoing support, we may
be faced with making cuts to our athletic
programs across the District. The Districts
commitment to a full athletic program is
evidenced by some of the costs it currently
    funds, including
  • 56 District Paid Stipends (per school) - Total
    cost approximately 750,000
  • Pools (5 pools/8 months) - Total cost
    approximately 200,000
  • Athletic Equipment - Total cost approximately
    112,000
  • Athletic Transportation - Total cost
    approximately 62,500
  • Helmet/Shoulder Pad Refurbish - Total cost
    approximately 32,500
  • Coaches Training For Every Coach - Total cost
    approximately 8,600
  • Athletics are very expensive, but we believe they
offer an important opportunity, enriching our
students lives and futures. We are committed to
offering quality athletic programs for your sons
and daughters, and hope you will share our
commitment with an Athletic Contribution this
upcoming year. It is our sincere hope and desire
that this Athletic Contribution causes no
hardship to your family. For this reason, the
Athletic Department will accept any and all
    Athletic Contribution amounts. For further
    information, please contact your school's
athletic director or the school administration
who are always available to respond to your
questions. To allow us to sustain the programs
at each school throughout the District, the
amount requested for the Athletic Contribution
per athlete, per season for school year 2012-13
    is
  • First Sport 125
  • Second Sport 100

  • Antelope Football Core Beliefs
  •
  • Character Development
  • Try to teach our players integrity, respect,
    commitment, accountability and loyalty.
  • We are teaching life skills through our football
    experience.
  • Do not do anything that would bring discredit to
your family school, team, football program, or
    yourself. The Do Right Rule
  •
  • 2. Academic Excellence
  • Stress the value of good education. Our goal is
for every teams GPA to be gt 3.0.
  • Do not be an athlete, be a student-athlete.
  •
  • 3. Speed and Strength Development
  • Weight training class and Titan summer strength
    program.
  • Outwork your opponents mentally and physically.
  •
  • 4. Communication
  • All communication between athletes and coaches
will be open and honest at all times. That means
you will be told what you need to hear not what
    you want to hear.
  • 5. Preparation

9
  • Academics
  • Academics come first
  • Each level will receive two days of study hall
per week. It is the students responsibility to
    come with work to do.
  • Successful students manage their time well
prepare for test early, read material nightly,
    and complete assignments on time.
  • Our goal is for an overall GPA of 2.5

10
  • Conditioning Training Philosophy
  • Physical training for athletics is a serious and
    an important matter.
  • We do not endorse steroids. The best program
consists of a well balanced diet, combined with
good hydration and rest, as well as a strong
effort in the weight room (SST specific sport
    training).

KIPI Preventative Program The KIPI Knee Injury
Preventative Program is cutting edge and provides
the newest concepts in exercise, body mechanics
and corrective exercise. In the case of the
non-contact ACL injury, many factors affect the
predisposition of an athletes likelihood of
occurrence. The staff at X2PI recognized these
factors, and created a system to reduce injuries
with proper evaluation, education, and
biomechanical implementation which gave rise to
the KIPI program. Has your athlete or school
been KIPI Certified?EVALUATION-Most athletes
are unaware of potential motor pattern risk
factors that can put them at risk for injury when
sprinting into a cut or landing from a jump.
During our unique KIPI Movement Efficiency
Evaluation process, the athletes will be put
through a variety of movement tests where
movement analysis will be instituted.EDUCATION-
At the conclusion of our educational process, our
athletes understand and demonstrate how to move
correctly, decelerate correctly, and land
properly from jumping movements. It is the X2PI
educational process that is critical to injury
prevention. If an athlete recognizes the proper
way to execute these athletic movements, it will
greatly reduce the risk for injury.IMPLEMENTATIO
N-Now that the athletes are educated on how to
perform these movements correctly, our
specialized Awareness Training Session is
implemented to reinforce correct movement
patters, stabilize the surrounding muscles around
the knee, and activate proper muscular balance.
This is a great hands on learning experience for
athlete as they will learn amongst their peers.

25
  • October Breast Cancer Awareness and Pink
  • There will be ONE game in October in which the
players can wear pink. The items allowed to be
    pink will be restricted to
  • Tape
  • Wrist Bands
  • Gloves
  • Skull Cap
  • These items will not be allowed after the one
    designated game. . .

26
  • Parent Communication Guidelines
  • Parents are always free to come and talk to the
coachsHOWEVER only certain things will be
discussed and only at certain times.
  • Coach will discuss your son and no ones else
  • Please partake in the 24 hour Rule-Sometimes
things are not as they seem, or as big as they
seem!!(make sure you have the FACTS)
  • These conversations will be kept on how your son
    can improve and get better
  • It will not be about playing time
  • These conversations need to be directed at the
position and Head Coach of your athletes
    Level(Chain of Command)
  • Ie Frosh-Coach Cook, JV Coach Burton, Varsity
    Coach Ray
  • If you still have issues you may contact Coach
Ray ( Please know that I will have all parties in
the meeting for open and honest communication)
  • Any further Assistance will need to be directed
    to Mike Triolo (AD)
  • All meetings need to be set up by appointment-
Please respect this and our time.
  • The best time for meetings will be after
    practice-
  • Times that coaches will not meet
  • Coaches will not discuss issues before practice-
Coachs have to get ready and be on time for
    practice
  • Coaches will not discuss issues before games-
they all have tons of duties to partake in
  • Coaches will not discuss issues AFTER GAMES-
Please make and appointment at a later time when
all parties have level heads!!! -24hr policy
  • Please adhere to these policies. We are willing
to meet and discuss issues that pertain to your
athlete in a matter and fashion that will be
