Ikegami Honmunji Main temple to one of the
strongest Buddhist orders. Center of religious
worship before and after restoration.
Bhuddism is the most prominent religion. After
restoration Shinto Gods became popular.
9Intellectual Influence
Yushima Jinja. Shinto God who represents
knowledge and power. Very important and
respected god.
Education is very important throughout Japan.
Sending children to school was forbidden for
lower class children before restoration, and
very expensive after.
