Scope of Project
  • Implement a software system that included both
    fixed and mobile equipment to facilitate the
    effective tracking of patients from a mass
    casualty incident (MCI) or event until
    disposition at the treatment facility.
  • Project includes two phases Pre-hospital and
    hospital

  • Can be operated in Access, SQL Server, Oracle,
    DB2 Databases
  • Securely export data in XML files or link data to
    systems via ADO, ODBC, XML, or flat file.
  • Enterprise Edition includes EMSware and Web
    Client software

Training
  • Phase I Training included an overview for key
    players from EMS prior to testing at Boomsday and
    the District II Homeland Security Exercise.
  • Phase II Training will involve Hospital Emergency
    Department Staff.
  • Discussions are being held about having a system
    like Triage Tuesdays where users can continue
    to practice/train using the system.

  • Limit access to PHI based on role of user i.e.
    Red Cross
  • Phase II-Hospital Imp.
  • Training continued for hospital personnel
  • Continue efforts towards having EMSware and
    equipment at triage/registration points
