WHY THE PROJECT ?
  • Tribals were earlier considered as encroachers
    upon forest land.
  • They were cultivating the land but were unable
    to improve the land.
  • The status of land and the tribals was not
    matching to that of khatedari
    lands and khatedar farmers respectively.
  • After giving pattas to them, they got rights on
the land but they didn't have enough funds to
improve the productive capacity (fertility of
    soil etc.) of the land.

6
WHY THE PROJECT ?
  • For development of land, activities permitted
    under MGNREGS are initiated.
  • To improve overall socio-economic condition of
tribals, convergence with related departments is
    being undertaken.
  • Total nine hundred fifty five (955) sanctions
    have been issued so far.
  • Remaining ones are under process.
  • Similar process can be adopted for other
    vulnerable groups also.
