2What is ISISlab?
ISISlab is a collection of computer systems and
network switches that can be arranged in any
arbitrary configuration.
ISISlab is hosted in the Information Technology
Services NOC, a restricted access hosting
facility on the VU campus.
ISISlab is currently composed of 4 IBM
BladeCenters and 7 Cisco switches.
3The Systems
There are 4 IBM BladeCenters, each consisting of
14 blades, 4 gigabit network IO modules, and 1
management module.
Each blade has a two 2.8GHz Xeon CPUs, 1 GB of
RAM, 40 GB HDD, and 4 Gbps network interfaces.
The MM provides remote power control, remote
console, remote media attachment, hardware
monitoring, and other management functions.
4The Switches
There are seven Cisco 3750G switches six 24-port
and one 48-port.
Each switch also has 4 Small Form-factor
Pluggable (SFP) ports, for a total of 220 ports.
Each switch is fully configurable via SNMP, is
VLAN and QoS capable, and can be stacked to
provide one virtual switch.
