Objective

• To validate that the CSAM system meets the
  general and specific user requirements,
  functional and safety requirements, and product
  requirements described in CERNs technical
  specification (IT-2694/ST).

FAT on the planning

The 2nd attempt

• The FAT were scheduled for the 15th of July
• The system was not ready, and the tests were
  re-scheduled to the 15th of September

As a result of this,

• CERN helps the contractor to identify the key
  issues
• Both project teams define a strategy to meet the
  new dates
• CERN closely follows up the development during
  July and August
• CERN engineers acquire a hands-on experience on
  the system

• FAT are divided in Sessions and Scenarios
• Sessions are related to general functions
• Scenarios are different cases of the same session
• Each session is composed by at least one scenario

Test follow-up

• 2 CERN engineers are on the contractors site
  during 4 days for the overall coordination and
  validation of the tests
• Test design documents revised by the CERN team
• Test method known by the contractor
• Tests performed by the contractor

Conclusions

• The tests are expected to be successful
• CERN engineers have participated in the
  realisation of the system, the approval of the
  proposed solutions and the implementation
• CSAM complies to the IT2694 specifications and
  we know what we buy
• CERN is ready to the on-site installation
