  • At the end of the 9th Five Year Plan there are
    1080 Jhugi Jhopdi Clusters in Delhi with the
    population of 3 million.
  • They constitute 22 of the total population of
    Delhi.
  • 30 are earning less than Rs. 96 per day the
    minimum wages.
  • Female work participation-9.4 (Census 2001)
  • In 55 difficult areas of Delhi 25 children are
    out of school.
  • In 28 ICDS centers on an average mid-day meal is
    distributed on alternate days.
  • Among the 6,90,000 households living in slums and
    squatter settlements 86 receive less than 50
    liters water per day.
  • National Sanitation coverage is only about 34
