Patchwork Operational Definition The composite
of fragments sewn together to unite a larger
piece.
Patchworks can be far more complex than squares
and rectangles. They can create a central
convergence of spaces.

Stormwater Management
A large rain garden will serve as an overflow
area during severe storms. A slight slope will
encourage flow into the garden, where plants
tolerant of moist conditions will filter water as
it seeps into the aquifer below.iow
Bioswale Section
Rain garden example
Bioswales will accept and convey stormwater
runoff from the adjacent paved roadway. Low
vegetation and existing soil will treat and
filter contaminants from the stormwater, acting
as natural filters.

Vegetated Buffer Section
Vegetated buffers will serve as separators
between use areas, removing sediment, organic
material, nutrients and chemicals carried in
runoff or waste water.
