13APPRECIATION OF IWRM PRINCIPLES
- Superficial understanding of holistic approach to
water resources management but IWRM principles
and processes yet to be grasped - People in academia and research institutions, few
staff of FMWR, few NGOs are aware of IWRM
principles but lack experience in implementation
processes - Majority of stakeholders lack awareness of IWRM,
therefore need to be sensitised - Informed stakeholders need to increase their
level of awareness and be trained as trainers

- Development of library for the CBIs to stock
relevant documents on IWRM for trainers and
trainees. - Curriculum development to include IWRM Principles
at all levels of education

- Baseline data on sectoral water needs
- Appropriate technologies to enhance IWRM

- Procure training facilities (LCD projectors,
internet services, audio-visual aids, books,
posters, etc) - Organise ToTs, training workshops, sensitisation
meetings, advocacy visits, awareness campaigns,
etc - Fund research activities
- Produce workshop proceedings, flyers, posters,
etc. - Pay for adverts, feature articles and
documentaries in the electronic and print media - Develop curricula in schools and colleges
