Project Recommendations

• A Statewide Network
• Integrate Regional IP Networks that have been
  locally established
• Interconnect remaining PSAPs to IP Network
• State contract for Managed services (SLAs,
  security, etc)
• State contract for NG9-1-1 Applications/services
  (could include network management functions)

Recommendation

• RFP process to establish a Management company to
  oversee the entire function of the networks.
• This Management company will monitor, oversee and
  enforce policies and Service levels.
• The Management Company will be the primary
  interface to the state.

Recommendation

• IP network has to be established by using the RFP
  process.
• This IP network prime will coordinate with all
  regional networks and nonregional PSAPs.

Recommendation

• RFI/RFP process to establish a Next Generation
  services vendor.
• This vendor will closely integrate with the IP
  network vendor.

Leverage Cost Savings

• There will be some hardware and network cost
  savings will be realized by the local regions
  installing their own IP networks.
• There will be integration and security issues to
  address interconnecting these Regional IP
  networks.
• The initial hardware cost savings will be offset
  by the initial integration costs.

Additional Costs impacts

• Ensuring Regional IP networks are up to a Public
  Safety/Mission Critical grade may require an
  additional investment in hardware or network.
