Raising of the Participation Age

• What it is
• Young people in England are expected to continue
  in education or training until the end of the
  academic year in which they turn 17 from 2013 and
  until their 18th birthday from 2015
• What it is not
• Raising of the school leaving age

• Single disadvantage fund for low level ALS
• Where costs are below 6,000
• Made up from two blocks

  apply to the local authority to access the High
  Needs block (or top up fund)
