- 117,000 hazardous drinkers
- 39,000 harmful drinkers
- 22,000 dependent drinkers

- 25 of men and 17 of women in the city are
drinking above safe limits.
5Current Services
- 28 separate organisations providing treatment
- More drug services than alcohol
- Based on a substitute prescribing approach for
drug misuse - Not fully recovery focused.
- Person centred - not family focused.
- Does not effectively respond to Women, BME and
LGBT groups.
