  • related styles.
  • Wanted to explore new elements of art not
    embraced by the
  • Impressionists or Post-Impressionists.
  • Artists shared a sense of liberation and
    experiment were interested
  • in the sensation aroused by the objects rather
    than the object itself.
  • Their technique disturbs and dislocates the form
    of the object, so that
  • it becomes a vehicle for sensory impression.
  • Most significant members included Henri Matisse,
    Maurice Vlaminck,
  • Andre Derain, Georges Rouault
