Board Policy 4119.12

• The Desert Sands Unified School District
  Board of Education adopted this board policy to
  guarantee a positive workplace climate free of
  all forms of violence, intimidation, abuse, and
  retaliation for all employees, often referred to
  as workplace bullying.

Definition of Workplace Bullying

• Workplace Bullying is defined as repeated
  actions by a person or a group directed against
  an individual that a reasonable person would find

• You feel sick or dread going to work
• Everyone at home is fed up with you obsessing
  about work
• Your doctor tells you to change jobs because of
  blood pressure or other health problems
• Days off are spent exhausted and lifeless
• You begin to believe that you provoked the
  workplace cruelty

What are the Bullys Tactics?

• Ridicule and humiliation
• Continual criticism
• Aggressive behavior
• Character assassination
• Social isolating or ostracizing
• Withholding support or assistance
• Put downs about a persons traits or abilities
• Getting others to also bully the target

• Goal is to provide a safe-haven, an opportunity
  for the entire DSUSD family to ask questions, to
  share experiences, and to enable people to learn
  what is bullying behavior and what is not.
