Creating Graphics in Paint
  • Click the Start button, point to All Programs,
    click Accessories, and then click Paint

Modifying Graphics in Paint
  • Reducing the width or height of the canvas is one
    way to crop, or remove, a row or column of pixels
    from an edge of a graphic
  • The pixel coordinates in the status bar specify
    the exact location of the pointer on the canvas
    relative to the pixels on your screen
  • When you draw a shape, you can use the sizing
    coordinates (immediately to the right of the
    pixel coordinates) to determine the size of the
    shape you are dragging

  • Click the Text tool, then drag a text box on the
    canvas
  • If the Text toolbar does not appear, click View
    and then click Text Toolbar
  • Use the Text toolbar to select a font, font size,
    or attributes (bold, italic, or underline)
  • Type the text in the text box, using the sizing
    handles to resize the text box, if necessary
  • Adjust the font, font size, or attributes (bold,
    italic, or underline), and resize the text box as
    necessary
  • Click outside the text box

    click the graphic one or more times or drag the
    magnification slider up to increase the

Editing a Photo
  • To rotate a photo, click the photo and then click
    the Rotate Counterclockwise or the Rotate
    Clockwise button on the navigation bar
  • To correct exposure or color problems, click the
    photo, click the Fix button on the toolbar, then
    click Auto Adjust
  • To fine-tune exposure or color problems, click
    the photo, click the Fix button on the toolbar,
    click Adjust Exposure or Adjust Color in the Fix
    pane, and then adjust the settings as necessary

  • To crop a photo, click the photo, click the Fix
    button on the toolbar, click Crop Picture, drag
    the frame to select the area you want to keep,
    and then click the Apply button
  • To fix red eye, click the photo, click the Fix
    button on the toolbar, click Fix Red Eye, and
    then drag to draw a rectangle around the area you
    want to fix

  • Click an option in the Publish to category in the
    Windows Movie Maker Tasks pane
  • If you are publishing to a folder on your
    computer, the Publish Movie Wizard starts. Enter
    a name and location for the movie, click Next,
    choose the settings for your movie, then click
    Publish
  • If you are publishing to a DVD, Windows DVD Maker
    opens. Customize the opening menu, and then click
    Burn
  • If you are publishing to a recordable CD, the
    Publish Movie Wizard starts. Insert a recordable
    CD in the appropriate drive, click Next, enter a
    name and location for the movie, click Next,
    choose the settings for your movie, and then
    click Publish

Publishing a Movie
  • If you are publishing the movie as an e-mail
    attachment, Windows Vista publishes the movie to
    a compressed file. When its finished, click Save
    a copy of my movie on my computer, enter a name
    and location for the file, click Save, and then
    click Attach Movie
  • If you are publishing to a videotape in a digital
    video camera, connect your camera to your
    computer, click Next, rewind or fast-forward the
    tape in your camera to where you want to record
    your movie, click Next, click Yes, and then click
    Finish
