• It works by blocking Serotonin, one of the bodys
  natural substances that cause vomiting.

• Onset Rapid
• Peak 15-30 minutes
• Duration 4 hours
• Half Life 4 hours average
• Excreted 95 in urine

IV Administration

• Adults 4 mg Slow IV Push over 30 seconds
• Children 4 mg Slow IV Push over 30 seconds

• 4mg per 2 ml bottle
• Drug box quantity is 8 mg (2 bottles)
• This is an optional drug per AZDHS

Side Effects

• Headache
• Lightheadedness
• Dizziness
• Constipation
• Drowsiness

Contraindications of use

• Hypersensitivity to Ondansetron
• Myasthenia Gravis
• Not recommended for children under
• 3 years of age.
