• - To impart a thorough understanding of issues
  related to the evaluation of microbiological
  quality of water intended for a number of
  different uses
• - To demonstrate laboratory techniques for the
  detection of bacterial indicators of water
  quality and selected pathogens
• - To explain the use of GIS in water quality
  issues
• - To examine issues on management of water
  quality (drinking, sea, swimming pools, waste and
  underground waters)
