Acts 161-5 (ESV)
1Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A
disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a
Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father
was a Greek. 2He was well spoken of by the
brothers at Lystra and Iconium. 3Paul wanted
Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and
circumcised him because of the Jews who were in
those places, for they all knew that his father
was a Greek.

Acts 161-5 (ESV)
4As they went on their way through the cities,
they delivered to them for observance the
decisions that had been reached by the apostles
and elders who were in Jerusalem. 5So the
churches were strengthened in the faith, and they
increased in numbers daily.

10You, however, have followed my teaching, my

my love, my steadfastness, 11my persecutions and
sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at
Iconium, and at Lystrawhich persecutions I
endured yet from them all the Lord rescued me.
12Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in
Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
9

in Christ Jesus.

14I do not write these things to make you
ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved
children. 15For though you have countless guides
in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I
became your father in Christ Jesus through the
gospel. 16I urge you, then, be imitators of me.
13
1 Corinthians 414-21 (ESV)
17That is why I sent you Timothy, my beloved and
faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my
ways in Christ, as I teach them everywhere in
every church. 18Some are arrogant, as though I
were not coming to you. 19But I will come to you
soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not
the talk of these arrogant people but their
power. 20For the kingdom of God does not consist
in talk but in power.
14
