Introduction

• The textile industry is one of the
  most important sectors of Pakistan. It
  contributes significantly to the countrys 8.5
  GDP, exports as well employment. It is, in fact,
  the backbone of the Pakistani economy.

Contribution to exports

• According to recent figures, the
  Pakistan textile industry contributes more than
  60 to the country total exports, which amounts
  to around 5.2 billion US dollars. The industry
  contributes around 46 to the total output
  produced in the country. In Asia, Pakistan is
  the 8th largest exporter of textile products.

Contribution to GDP and employment

• The contribution of this industry
  to the total GDP is 8.5. It provides employment
  to 38 of the work force in the country, which
  amounts to a figure of 15 million. However, the
  proportion of skilled labor is very less as
  compared to that of unskilled labor.

Spinning

• Spinning is the process of converting
  fibers into yarn. The fibers may be natural

  polyester. Sometimes, the term spinning is also
  used for production of manmade filament yarn.

Weaving

• Weaving is the process of making
  cloth, rugs, blankets, and other products by
  crossing two sets of threads over and under each
  other.
• Weaving sector is one of the most
  important textile sub-sectors. The exports of

  form a major portion of textile exports from
  Pakistan.

• Cloth finishing is one of the chief
  arts in the textile industry. The appearance of
  the goods is often of first concern, and the
  appearance of any fabric is largely due to the
  methods of finishing.

  is a fairly simple process. It doesn't take a lot
  of work and the amount of work it takes often
  depends on what type of dye you purchase.
