6Individual Career Counseling
Meet one-on-one with a trained career
counselor to help answer your questions about
careers, internships, graduate school, and/or
making the transition from student to
professional. A career counselor will help
your clarify your goals, explore personal
concerns, and develop an individualized career
plan. While a counselor can suggest
occupations to consider, the ultimate choice is
yours to make.

- Connecting with other students who share similar
concerns is a unique way to generate solutions
and strategies for your career-related questions. - A variety of programs ranging from how majors
relate to careers to job search strategies can be
point of discussions.
8Career Assessments
- Career assessments can help to generate career
options based on your interest, skills, values,
and personality traits. - Types of career assessments offered include
Strong Interest Inventory, Confidence Skills
Inventory, Self-Directed Search, Myers-Briggs
Type Indicator, Focus II. - Career Connections individualized interpretation
format will add clarity to your results.
9Job and Internship Campaign Assistance
- Resources are available on how to create
professional resumes, curriculum vitae, and cover
letters, plus free critiques! - Strategies for conducting a successful job
search. - Meet with a career professional for a free
mock-interview.

- In collaboration with the College of Education,
this class is offered to all students at OSU,
regardless of college of enrollment. - If you have questions about your major, career,
or job search, then consider enrolling in this
class. - It is graded S/U and will count as an elective.
- It is a 02 credit hour class offer Fall and
Spring semesters

- The Media Resource Suite is located at the
Younkin Success Center, Room 210 and contains
print and electronic resources and information on
careers, occupations, academic majors, career
trends, job search techniques, and applying to
graduate or professional school. - Career Exploration Resources include
Occupational Outlook Handbook, Career Briefs.
Petersons Guides, and Focus II Discover
computerized assessment software.

- A variety of career-related programs ranging from
career exploration to job search strategies are
available every semester. - Unique seminars and workshops are offered to all
undergraduate/graduate students per request. - Grab-n-Go career handouts are always available!
