  • Event Specifications
  • On the 25th of August Acie Lumumba will be
    hosting a Town Hall/community/think-tank meeting
    at Hatfield Hall called Solutions for Hatfield
    Forum (SFH) for 300 members of the Hatfield
    community. The purpose of the meeting is as
    follows
  • To give residents an opportunity to air what they
    feel are challenges in the community.
  • To give resident an opportunity to air what they
    feel are solutions to those challenges.
  • To launch a fortnight forum/think tank that
    discuss challenges and solutions in the community
    and how the community can play a role.

Steps Taken so Far
  • In the run-up to the event we have
  • spoken to the teaching staff at all Hatfield
    primary, secondary and tertiary schools.
  • Pitched the idea at assemblies for all secondary
    schools to invite the students
  • all students on final day of school were given
    newsletters to take home and invite the parents
  • one on one consultations with all headmasters of
    local schools and all local church pastors
  • the whole process is being documented on tape
    for the making of a documentary to be played on
    the 25th.
  • an online profile has been activated to
    encourage online participation.
  • we have mobilized former students of Hatfield
    schools to join the Former Hatfield Student
    Union.
  • on the 19th together with stakeholders we will
    repainting the Hatfield community hall in
    preparation of the 25th.
  • I am not asking you to believe in my ability to
    bring about change in this community, I am asking
    you to believe in yours

  • Follow Up Steps
  • The Forum will be decentralized down to
    stakeholder level and bi-monthly held.
  • After the 1st two weeks we will host a similar
    forum at Hatfield Primary, all other stakeholders
    will be invited to come and collectively address
    the issues of this school before we move to the
    next stakeholder likewise.
  • We will address the challenges stakeholder by
    stakeholder.
  • All efforts will be collectively executed by all
    stakeholders
  • The follow up forums will cost 580USD to put on
    every 2weeks.
