Title: Teachings from the Qur

1
Teachings from the Quran and Hadith
2
The Quran is the holy book of Islam.
  • Muslims believe the Quran is the book of Gods
    guidance and direction for mankind.
  • Muslims consider the original Arabic text to be
    the final revelation of God.
  • Islam says that the Quran was revealed to
Muhammad by the angel Gabriel over a period of 23
    years.
  • The Quran was written down by Muhammad's
followers while he was alive, although most early
    teaching was done orally.

3
The Hadith and The Sunnah
  • The Hadith is a collection of the sayings about
    the actions of Muhammad.
  • The Sunnah is a record of the way Muhammad lived
his life which should serve as an example to
    Muslims.
  • The concepts are very similar, but not identical.
