  • The integration of markets, nation-states and
    tech-nologies in a way that is enabling
    individuals,
  • corporations, and nations to reach around the
    world farther, faster, and cheaper than ever
    before.

  • The process has been going on for 5,000 years,
    but has accelerated dramatically since the fall
    of the Soviet Union in 1991.
  • Increased communication, trans-portation, trade,
    multinational
  • corporations, and economic
  • alliances have contributed to the dramatic
    increase.

  • Obtaining services or products from an outside
    supplier or manufacturer in order to cut costs.
  • Outsourcing manufacturing, technical, and
    communications jobs has increased in the U.S.
    causing loss of jobs.
