    created, neurons develop, myelin is formed

    brain essential for such functions as response
    inhibition, emotional regulation, analyzing
    problems and planning Executive Functions
  • Executive functions continue to develop through
    young adulthood (earlier in girls than in boys)

    eliminates weaker synapses strengthens stronger
    connections
