HOW DID THE PILGRIMS GET TO AMERICA

• The pilgrims came on a ship called the Mayflower
• They left Plymouth England on September 16, 1620
• They arrived in America on November 21, 1620

THE PILGRIMS MADE A LIFE IN PLYMOUTH

• They worked hard to survive but they had a hard
  time growing food
• Winter was very hard for the pilgrims
• Many of the pilgrims died

• An Indian named Samoset visited the pilgrims
• Samoset brought a friend named Squanto

• Squanto helped the pilgrims
• Suanto taght the pilgrims how to grow corn and
  other crops

• The pilgrims grew lots of food
• Governor Bradford proclaimed a day of
  Thanksgiving
• Squanto and the Wampanoug Indians were invited
• Everyone shared and gave thanks for the good food
