- In the world
- New global investment in clean energy reached
243 billion in 2010, up from 186.5 billion in
2009 - RD spending on clean energy technologies by
companies and governments grew to a record level
in 2010. Within this, the main constituent was
government RD incentives - (source Bloomberg New Energy Finance, 2011)
- In Italy
- In 2 years the sectors total turnover (hydro and
geothermal energy not included) rose at more than
double from 5 billion in 2008 to over 13 billion
in 2010 - Between 2009 and 2010 the sector has created over
20,000 jobs. Currently, the renewable industry
has 120,000 employees between direct and induced.
It is estimated that in 2020 the workforce could

Thanks to his strong industrial culture and to a
deep know-how of the production systems, Piemonte
has managed to develop a huge and deep expertise
in the environmental technology
about 1,300 enterprises are involved in the
environmental sector
Piemonte can therefore offer solutions to
various issues regarding environmental matters
such as production, consumption and distribution
of goods and services

available skills and technologies
