  • Work Based Learning innovation Use of Peer
    Assessment
  •  This is a strategy appropriate to groups of
    students who have been set disparate tasks but
    all of which fall under the MS Server
    configuration Umbrella.
  • The module requires students to implement a
    variety of server roles but there is insufficient
    time in the module for all students to implement
    all roles. So an Assessment means must be found,
    which is time efficient and which allows students
    exposure to each others work whilst
    simultaneously allows peer input on their
    efforts.
  • The mechanism chosen was SurveyMonkey (Free lite
    version , Pro licence for more than 10 questions)
    and whilst only a survey tool it easily allows
    the setting up of a survey to record responses by
    individuals to a presentation given by
    individuals.
  • Such an approach to assessment has been found to
    offer the following advantages
  • Reduced work load for Lecturer! (Just a
    spreadsheet to manipulate)
  • Students get to see each other s work
  • Students get a presentation on aspects of a
    subject they did not examine (assessment becomes
    a learning experience)
  • IT students use IT to present and Assess work
