Oh, my goodness!! Mrs. Weisss videos on the
five kingdoms of living things have been
misplaced! How could this be? Can you
help?? Yes you can!! Welcome to the WebQuest
Kingdoms Project! You will select or be placed
into a kingdom group, monera, protista, fungi,
plantal, animalia, and then choose your favorite
organism in that kingdom to research. You will
use books, magazines and internet websites to
gather information about your organism, take
notes on the facts that you discover, and record
and present your information in addition to your
teammates information as a Kingdom Multimedia
Presentation to your class. This way, you can
all help to replace the information from the
videos that have been misplaced! We can all
learn from one another through the multimedia
presentations! What kind of information will you
be researching? Start with the six
characteristics and four needs of all living
things. Then include any other interesting facts
that you can dig up through your research.

Notes
  • You and your teammates will create a multimedia
presentation on your kingdom that will be shared
with the class. This will be a Power Point
    presentation that includes characteristics of
your kingdom (for example, all Moneran or
bacteria are one-celled organisms) and specific
information about your organism along with
    pictures and diagrams.
  • You and your team will be responsible for
producing one kingdom segment. Each segment
production team will be responsible to
  • Research the kingdom for the group's segment
  • Collaboratively create a 5-10 minute documentary
    using Microsoft PowerPoint (including appropriate
    images. etc.)

Notes
This Webquest Research Project involves many
steps        First, you will choose or be
assigned a kingdom group with which to work. As a
team the first thing you will want to do is study
the project rubric.  Notice the point values in
each section.  As you plan, review the rubric and
make sure you are completing all parts of the
rubric. There will also be an individual
assessment made by the group with whom you are
working. See evaluation.        Next, each
member of the kingdom group will select a
favorite organism to research.        Then,
using the laptop computer, go on line and use the
Internet websites to research your organism.
In addition to online resources, reference books,
text books and magazines are available.        Us
e the organism organizer to record your notes
about the characteristics, needs, and interesting
facts of your organism.        Use your notes
to help your group create an interesting and
informative power point presentation. Include
pictures and diagrams of the organisms! Continued
on next slide!!

1.  Now that all the research is done, it is
time to come together as a group to work on your
presentation.  Review the rubric again and plan
out your presentation. 2.  Work together to
make your presentation.  As you plan, keep in
mind the point values of each section of the
rubric. Proofread and edit your presentation.
Make it special!! Below are some points to
include in your presentation When your
presentation is created, practice, practice
practice.  Be sure that the technical aspects of
your presentation work.  Try to set up your
presentation on the system you will be using to
present to the class at least one day before you
present.  Rehearse your part of the oral
presentation so you won't need to rely on notes.

Notes
  • Grades will be determined by a combination of
    factors.
  •   Read the project rubric carefully before
beginning your project. While cooperation and
team work are key to this project, it is not
uncommon for some group members to work to a
lesser or to a greater degree than others. To
address this concern, individual grades will be
determined based on the points earned by the
segment, and based on the group's evaluation of
    each of its members.
