7Why Co-Generation?
- Here, steam is extracted from power turbines
before exit to condensers evaporates sea water
in distillation units. Hot drains of fresh water
and brine then deliver heat to re-gasify LNG. - Overall efficiency of utilities is enhanced
- Much less waste heat is rejected to the ocean
- Fresh water is produced economically
- No natural gas need be burned to re-gasify LNG
- Closed-Loop re-gasification no sea water
is subjected to cryogenic temperatures
