Title I Assistance for Disadvantaged Students
  • Provides funds to districts and schools with
    high numbers of children who are disadvantaged.
  • Funds must support supplemental educational
    services
  • Ensure that all children have an opportunity to
    obtain a high-quality education and
  • Reach proficiency on challenging state academic
    achievement standards and assessments.

  • ELLs must be identified to receive Title
    services based on multiple, objective,
    educationally related criteria.
  • In Title I Schoolwide Programs
  • All funds may be used to increase the amount and
    quality of learning time for all students,
    including ELLs.

  • Extend the day for Title I identified ELL
    students through After-school programs or
    tutoring.
  • Extend the week for Title I identified ELL
    students through Saturday programming.

  • Identify, develop/adapt, and purchase
    instructional materials for Title I identified
