Habitat

• A habitat is a place where an animal finds the
  things it needs to live.
• In its habitat an animal finds water, food, and
  shelter.
• There are 4 types of land habitats desert, rain
  forest, forest, and tundra.

Desert
A desert is a place that gets very little
rain. Only few plants and animals live in the
desert.

Rainforest
A rainforest is an environment where rain falls
almost every day. There are many different kinds
of plants and animals that live in the rainforest.

Forest
A forest is an environment that gets enough water
and warmth for many trees to grow.

Tundra
The tundra is a place with very cold and windy
weather. The land is covered with ice and snow
most of the year. There are no trees that grow in
the tundra.
