Who Are We?
The Chesapeake Basin Umpire Association is
comprised of 150 college qualified umpires
serving the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, New
York, and Delaware. Our focus is division II and
division III college baseball.

Membership Requirements

• Every new member is required to tryout
• Every player is evaluated on
• - Plate Work head stability, timing, strike
  zone consistency, game management, knowledge and
  rules
• - Base Work timing, mechanics, positioning,
  non verbal communication
• If accepted every new member must a attend a
  mandatory clinic every year for 4 years

Membership

• Every member must pass a yearly NCAA required
  test and receive 80 or higher
• All members must a attend a mandatory two day
  clinic/meeting on new rules, rule interpretation,
  and mechanics,

• CBUA is able to cover 100 of all assignments
  because the 150 members are located within the
  area of coverage
• Many members have been selected to work post
  season regional playoffs and DII and DIII World
  Series Championships
• CBUA has consistent umpire fees with all colleges
• CBUA members are required to dress alike
• CBUA uses an ongoing evaluation process for each
  game
