Pace
  • Speak slowly
  • Clear but not lethargic
  • Be sure that you are engaging, but not so
    energetic that you are overwhelming.

  • Make sure that your volume is appropriate to the
    size of the room, and the size of the audience.
  • Be sure that your tone is authoritative, without
    being harsh.

  • Make use of your technological resources!
  • Have a backup (or two, or three.)
  • Be prepared for when things dont go as planned.

  • Be animated by using gestures without distracting
    from your presentation.
  • Dont travel while you are speaking. Move
    between statements.

Practice Routines
  • Practice before you give your presentation!
  • Give your presentation in front of a mirror
  • Give your presentation to a group of friends

    present the material.

  • The content of your oral presentation will be
    covered in class.
  • Be aware of the content, familiarize yourself
    with it, and be sure to thoroughly cover it in
    your presentation.
  • Ask for help if you need it!
