Why the tropical rainforests are being cut down
Problems that occur

• Animals die
• Soil suffers (nutrients are washed away and
  theres no dead leaves too make more)
• Local tribes suffer (land is being taken away)
• People suffer (no plants to make new medicines,
  and more CO2 speeds up global warming).

• Farming cattle ranching (fast food chains),
  land for growing food (smaller scale)
• Logging for timber sale
• Mineral extraction (oil and metal)
• To build roads and transport routes
