get a point across in a way that is not commonly

as much as it was in Shakespeares day.
3definitions continued

all that is around us. - Simply put, poetry is anything you want it to be
about anything you want to write about.
4Paradise
I sat upon a hill and saw An unreal land
ahead, A place not bound by moral law But
somehow free instead As I gazed from where I
sit It silently sent its call, I tried to go
and answer it But I couldnt move at all. I
could not step into that land But even so
I tried, And finally broke the bonds of man!
And quietly laid down and died.

7Daffodils
As the sun rises in the sky I see but thousands
more on the ground bending to and fro They dance
and they sway moving with the breeze Living free
with the family they know These are Daffodils a
beauty of the land above all that people might
say These are Daffodils Let us sit and enjoy

8Theme for soccer
The coach said Go home and practice tonight And
let the player come out Then it will be true I
wonder if soccer is simple I am 14, white and
born in Newport, Oregon I went to school in
Meminnville then moved here the town by the
lake out the door and across the street lead to
Sandpoint over the bridge into Sagle, down Sagle
rd, to my house then outside to practice till
dark I feel and hear Sagle the wind whistling
through the trees, the lake brushing the shore I
am part of Sagle because Sagle school was my
stomping grounds and every teacher liked me
because I Worked hard and was polite -ss Mode

11Little Feet
In between wave crashes and blows Little feet
scurrying could be heard Above green hills a red
sun rose Revealing an ocean majestic cliffs once
blurred Standing still a girl with golden curls
blowing Smiled with glee, giggled then stared In
amusement her small face was glowing For what
amazing thing she found there One tiny hand
reached out and snatched A smooth pastel shell
covered in sand With a plunk it was added into
her buckets batch Wanting to share them she
headed to land Leaving only her footprints etched
where her feet once stood to play Until the mist
rolled in with the waves stealing the footprints
away

13Object Poem
First it is an orange Easter egg And then it
feels like a smooth misshaped sphere, And then it
feels like a neon light bulb, And now it becomes
a burning setting sun, And now it is a golden
raindrop, now it is hiding in the grass waiting
to be found, And again, it is an Easter egg
14Weather Poem
Rain comes in soft and sweet Like Gods tears. It
floods the land By falling droplets. In the

Snow Soft cold flakes Drifting slowly from the

playful manner It always leaves the same way It
all melts To begin the cycle again Next year
