Local Update Of Census Addresses (LUCA )
  • The Census Address List Improvement Act of 1994
    (Public Law 103-430), authorized the Census
    Bureau to provide individual addresses to
    officials of state, local, and tribal governments
    who agreed to the conditions of confidentiality.

  • jurisdiction is critical to the
  • success of this program.

  • Only one LUCA review for all address types
    (urban rural)
  • Group Quarters will be included in LUCA review
  • Well provide application software to assist
    with local review if requested

BOUNDARY AND ANNEXATION SURVEY - BAS

Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS)
  • Annual survey to collect boundary changes for
    counties, cities, towns, townships, etc.
  • All WV counties and incorporated places over
    5000 pop. will be surveyed in 2007.
  • In years, 2008, 2009, 2010, all West Virginia
    communities will be surveyed.
