18Ideas for Defining Research Needs
- Provide names of staff that you feel can assist
with identifying - Early distress (RED reports)
- Gaps / weakness in specifications or manuals(We
are planning a survey to identify gaps) - Processes or procedures that need change or
modifications - New needs, procedures, materials you want to try
- Others
- Get your staff involved in TOCs
- 4-5 meetings every year
19Ways You Can Contribute
- Take the survey identify staff to take it
- Attend TOC meetings
- Evaluate proposals
- Participate in Project Oversight Team (POTs)
- Review progress reports in your expertise
- Review final reports / presentations
- Implement, implement, and implement
20Web-Based Survey
- Objectives
- User-friendly format
- Identify potential specification deficiencies and
other research needs. - Will help TOCs develop research ideas/RFPs.
