LNPA WORKSHOP
  • PA contract inhibits timely changes to process
improvements and is inflexible relative to the
    change order process
  • The PA contract is based on the INC
    Guidelines/Forms in effect on Sept. 9, 2000.
  • For example, the ability to add a remarks
field on PAS mechanized forms is hampered by the
    change order process
  • INC and PA continue to improve industry
    processes
  • Some PAS upgrades require additional funding,
such as adding a remarks field
  • Frustration with implementing current change
orders in PAS because state trial processes were
    more flexible

5
CO/NXX WORKSHOP
  • INC discussed at length the input received from
state regulators on Issue 322 - Removal of Switch
ID. Although the issue remains in initial
closure, INC has concluded that the Switch ID
    field should be removed because
  • FCC rules mandate assignments at the rate center
    level, not the switch level
  • Switch ID is an artifact from the days when
assignments were made at the switch level and is
no longer used in the assignment of a Central
    Office code
  • SPs may move numbers between switches within a
rate center to balance resources, therefore
rendering the original Switch ID moot and
  • State regulators have other ways to obtain
Switch ID information, e.g., TRA, CCMI, NECA FCC
Tariff No. 4 and other vendor products.

6
CO/NXX WORKSHOP
  • NANC LNPA Working Group provided further
clarification relative to PIMs 14 15 which the
INC is working within Issue 364 - Modifications
to Procedures for Code Holders/LERG Assignee Exit
  • INC approved interim procedures for returning
non-pooled codes with active or pending TNs
    (detailed in the NANPA report)

7
NANPE Workshop
  • NANP Expansion Reference Document
  • Final Closure expected at July INC meeting
  • July NANC meeting precedes July INC meeting
  • NANC briefing on Reference Document in September
  • INC requests NANC members submit questions, in
    writing, prior to September meeting.
