The Concept Phase Objective
  • To define the critical elements of an
  • LCI project that will appropriately address
    the identified Need and Purpose.
  • To develop a Concept Report that will describe
    the project foot print.

Concept Team Meeting
  • Purpose
  • Better understanding of project scope,
    identification of what is needed and when and the
    next steps
  • Held by The Sponsor
  • Attended by Project manager(s), Utilities reps,
    GDOT Area Engineer (if State Route affected)

Public Meeting
  • Purpose
  • Provide information on the project
  • Allow for public input
  • Develop understanding and support for the project

The Concept Report
  • Critical document that forms the foundation of
    every LCI project
  • The quality and accuracy of the document could
    improve the timing for the next steps

  • Project Need and Purpose clearly state the need
    and purpose of the project.
  • Project Concept/Description the description
    should elaborate the details of the project such
    as features and elements to be constructed, but
    should match ARCs description.

    right-of-way, any features that may require a
    Design Variance
  • Environmental concerns/level of analysis
