Week of Sept. 23 - 27 Volume 2
This week in math students are focusing on
subtraction strategies. We will be solving a
variety of subtraction problems using different
strategies.

• Fridays are Future Friday! Students can wear a

This week in reading we will be using poetry to
help us visualize and identify the mood and tone
of the author. We will also be examining the plot
of poems and stories.

This week we will be working with plural noun
endings. We will compare single vs. plural nouns.
This week we are continuing to work in our
writers workshop, learning what good writers do.
We are discussing how to identify sentences and
the four types of sentences.
This week, in Science, we will be learning about
the different stages of matter i.e. solid, liquid
or gas. In Social Studies we will be exploring
the Declaration of Independence. Students will
identify the purpose of this document and
understand its meaning.
