• Thus far in our studies weve considered the
  sanctuary in Eden, the Mountain Sanctuary and the
  Wilderness Sanctuary. Through this study weve
  been able to see something of the terrible nature
  of sin as well as Gods wonderful plan of
  salvation. However, while the earthly
  sanctuaries and feasts taught about Gods plan of
  salvation, there was a problem, they didnt
  really take care of sin. Why?

• Reason 1 Heb. 82,5
• Heb. 82 (NKJV) a Minister of the sanctuary and
  of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected,
  and not man. Heb. 85 who serve the copy and
  shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was
  divinely instructed when he was about to make the
  tabernacle. For He said, See that you make all
  things according to the pattern shown you on the
  mountain.
• -The earthly sanctuary was not the real one, it
  was just a copy.

• Reason 2 Heb. 99
• Heb. 99 It was symbolic for the present time in
  which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which
  cannot make him who performed the service perfect
  in regard to the conscience
• It was an imperfect figure (parable) that
  couldnt make the priest prefect.
• Reason 3 Heb. 723
• Heb. 723 Also there were many priests, because
  they were prevented by death from continuing.
• The earthly priests could not continue but
  died. Why did they die? (Rom 323 623)

• Reason 4 Heb. 104
• Heb. 104 For it is not possible that the blood
  of bulls and goats could take away sins.
• -Its sacrifices didnt take away sin.
• Reason 5 Heb. 1011
• Heb. 1011 And every priest stands ministering
  daily and offering repeatedly the same
  sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
• -Though offered again and again the earthly
  sacrifices did not take away sin.

• Reason 6 Heb. 98
• Heb. 98 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that
  the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made
  manifest while the first tabernacle was still
  standing.
• -The way into the holiest had to be made manifest
  (shown) and this could not happen while the
  earthly tabernacle was still standing.
• So - Sin is a much bigger problem than many
  think! Getting rid of it is no small task!

  844Isaiah 1412
• John 844 You are of your father the devil, and
  the desires of your father you want to do. He was
  a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand
  in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
  When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own
  resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
• Is. 1412 (NKJV) How you are fallen from
  heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
• -The devil was the father of sin from the very
  beginning. Sin originated in heaven!

• What was Satans position in the heaven? Ezekiel
  2814
• Ezek. 2814 You were the anointed cherub who
  covers I established you You were on the holy
  mountain of God You walked back and forth in
  the midst of fiery stones.
• -Satan was the anointed cherub who covers.
• -He served on the holy mountain of God.

• Where do covering cherubs work? Ex. 2522
• Ex 2522 And there I will meet with thee, and I
  will commune with thee from above the mercy seat,
  from between the two cherubims which are upon
  the ark of the testimony, of all things which I
  will give thee in commandment unto the children
  of Israel.
• 1Ki 87 For the cherubims spread forth their two
  wings over the place of the ark, and the
  cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof
  above.

• What is in heavens ark? Rev. 1119
• Rev. 1119 And the temple of God was opened in
  heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark
  of his testament.
• -Satan served on the holy mountain of God (The
  sanctuary Exodus 1517).
• -He specifically worked in the Most Holy Place of
  the heavenly sanctuary as a covering angel for
  the ark of God.
• -The ark that contained Gods law.

• What was his original standing? Ezekiel 2814

• What is the significance of walking in fire?
• Ex. 1918 Mount Sinai was altogether a smoke,
  because the LORD descended upon it in fire and
  the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a
  furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
• Heb. 1229 For our God is a consuming fire.
• -Satan was in the very presence of God!

• Why could Satan do this?
• Ezekiel 2812,15
• Ezek. 2812 You were the seal of perfection,
  Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 15You were
  perfect in your ways from the day you were
  created
• -All these words are loaded with meaning. Satan
  was the seal of perfection KJV says thou
  sealest up the sum. When is says that he was
  perfect in beauty the word perfect is the same
  word used to describe a perfect sacrifice in the
  sanctuary.

• What happened? Isaiah 1413,14
• Is. 1413 (NKJV) For you have said in your
  heart I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt
  my throne above the stars of God I will also
  sit on the mount of the congregation On the
  farthest sides of the north 14 I will ascend
  above the heights of the clouds, I will be like
  the Most High.
• -He wanted to ascend. He wanted to exalt his
  throne above the stars of God. He wanted to sit
  on the mount of the congregation. He wanted to
  be like the Most High.

• How did he go about attempting to have this
  happen? Ezekiel 2816
• Ezek. 2816 (NKJV) By the abundance of your
  trading You became filled with violence within,
  And you sinned Therefore I cast you as a
  profane thing out of the mountain of God And I
  destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst
  of the fiery stones.
• -He started an abundance of trading.
• -This led to violence and sin.

• What happened as a result of his influence?
• 2 Peter 24 Jude 6 Revelation 127-9
• 2Pet. 24 The angels sinned
• Jude 6 The angels who did not keep their proper
  domain, but left their own abode
• Rev. 127 And war broke out in heaven Michael
  and his angels fought and the dragon and his
  angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor
  was a place found for them in heaven 9 So the
  great dragon was cast out to the earth, and his
  angels were cast out with him.

• What was Satan still allowed to do? Job 16,7
• Job 16 Now there was a day when the sons of God
  came to present themselves before the LORD, and
  Satan also came among them. 7 And the LORD said
  to Satan, From where do you come?  So Satan
  answered the LORD and said, From going to and
  fro on the earth
• -The devil, with all his defilement still had
  access to heaven.

  horn 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven
  and it cast down some of the host and stars to
  the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even
  exalted himself as high as the Prince of the
  host and by him the daily sacrifices were taken
  away, and the place (foundation rock) of His
  sanctuary was cast down. 12 he cast truth down
  to the ground

• Does the NT see problem? Hebrew 922-26 Heb.
  922 And almost all things are by the law purged
  with blood and without shedding of blood is no
  remission. 23 It was therefore necessary that
  the patterns of things in the heavens should be
  purified with these but the heavenly things
  themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24
  For Christ is not entered into the holy places
  made with hands, which are the figures of the
  true but into heaven itself, now to appear in
  the presence of God for us 25 Nor yet that he
  should offer himself often, as the high priest
  entereth into the holy place every year with
  blood of others 26 For then must he often have
  suffered since the foundation of the world but
  now once in the end of the world hath he appeared
  to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
