FRIGI-TECH REFLECTIVE ROOF COATINGS
2
MAIN BENIFITS
  • INSULATES Outperforms 7 of fiberglass
insulation. Keeps interiors cooler and more
comfortable. CUTS COST of air conditioning by up
to 40. Increase in storage capacity of fuel
    storage tanks.
  • INHIBITS RUST Prevents perforation and damage
    due to corrosion.
  • PROTECTS - against UV, chemical damage. Is not
affected by high winds or rain. Resists Mildew
    and algae.
  • REDUCES THERMAL SHOCK - by lowering roof
temperatures by as much as 60 degrees. This
translates to less expansion/contraction and less
stress and wear on fasteners and connections.
  • WATERPROOF Stops leaks and prevents moisture
    absorption on all surfaces.
  • FIRE RETARDANT Zero flame spread.
  • IMPROVES APPEARANCE - with an extremely durable
elastomeric finish that will not crack, chip, or
peel. Can be tinted any color. Cuts your
    maintenance cost.
  • ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE No asbestos, lead, vinyl
acetate, plastics, oils, odors or gases. Wash
    with water.
  • ENCAPSULATES - asbestos surfaces and existing
    hazardous coatings.

3
APPLICATIONSAny surface that heat needs to stay
in or out of.
  • Metal
  • Concrete
  • Asphalt
  • Rubber
  • Glass
  • Tar and Gravel
  • Wood Shingle

4
ENERGY STAR APPROVAL
  • ENERGY STAR is a U.S. government-backed program
helping businesses and individuals protect the
    environment through superior energy efficiency.

5
PRODUCTS
  • FRIGI-TECH TOP COAT
  • FRIGI-TECH TOP COAT II
  • FRIGI-TECH PRIMER
  • POLYESTER MEMBRANE

6
TOP COAT
  • An Acrylic white coating with nearly 400
elongation. Ideal for metal, built-up roofs with
good drainage, shingles and all types of walls.
Produces a tough washable coat that reduces dirt
pick-up and stays cool with ceramic ingredient.

7
TOP COAT II
  • All of the qualities of TOP COAT original with
the added ability to resist standing water
conditions. To be used on all surfaces in area
that experience high humidity. Can reduce heat
gain as efficiently as 7 inches of conventional
    insulation

8
PRIMER
  • 100 acrylic, Elastomeric roof mastic formulated
to exhibit hi-adhesion and flexibility. For use
over most types of roof and wall surfaces.
Recommended for use on all foam roofs.

9
POLYESTER MEMBRANE
  • A spun bound and woven 100 polyester fabric,
which is embedded into the basecoat to prevent
extreme movement by greatly increasing the
    tensile strength of the system.

METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • VISUAL INSPECTION and REPLACEMENT of DAMAGED
BUILDING MATERIALSThe substrate to be coated
must be in SOUND condition. Physically inspect
the surface area for missing or damaged building
materials. Replace and/or repair all damaged
areas back to sound and solid condition.Check
for loose or missing fasteners (screws) and
tighten or replace them.Inspect for any existing
leaks and be sure to repair leaks prior to the
application of coating.Make sure roof is
adequately vented. Check with a roofing
    contractor if necessary.

13
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP2 PRESSURE CLEANINGHigh Pressure Blast
entire roof surface with at least 1500 P.S.I. of
pressure using a water and chlorine solution (1
quart chlorine to 5 gallons of water). Thoroughly
remove all dirt, oil, grease, residues, mold,
mildew, algae and any other surface contaminants.
When roof is completely cleaned, rinse with water
only. Let roof surface dry before continuing.

14
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • First Spot Prime all rusted areas and let dry at
least 12 hours before applying the second coat of
rust inhibitor to the effected area. Apply the
rust inhibitor at a rate of 125-150 square feet
per gallon covering the entire rusted surface.
Wet film thickness of 10-12 mils wet resulting in
dry film thickness of 7-9 mils. Let the rust
inhibitor dry at least 12 hours before continuing

15
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP4 CAULKING SCREWSPatch and Caulk all
screws or fastener heads, cracks, crevices,
fractures, holes, valleys, vents, voids, etc.,
with a Water Proofing caulk. Use a trowel or
stiff brush to apply. Multiple coats are better
than one thick coat if possible.

16
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP 5 TAPING SEAMS Tape all visible seams,
large cracks and fractures prone to water
intrusion on roof surface. Apply a liberal coat
of PRIMER at 10-12 mils wet film thickness,
directly to the affected area using brush, roller
or airless spray and lay the POLYESTER MEMBRANE
    directly into the WET PRIMER.

17
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP6 PRIME COATApply PRIMER using 1- brush,
2- at least a one inch nap roller, or 3- at least
    a 1 gallon per minute, 3,000 P.S.I. piston type
airless sprayer with a minimum tip size of .027
    tip.

18
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • Apply the PRIMER at a rate of 125-150 square feet
per gallon covering the entire roof surface. Wet
film thickness of 10-12 mils wet resulting in dry
film thickness of 7-9 mils. Let PRIMER dry at
    least 12 hours before continuing.

19
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP 7 FIRST COAT of FINISH/TOP COATWhen
Spraying or Rolling TOP COAT the first coat of
TOP COAT must be applied perpendicular to the
coat of PRIMER to achieve a checkerboard pattern.
Apply the first coat of TOP COAT at a rate of
100-125 square feet per gallon per coat over the
entire roof surface. Wet film thickness of 12-15
mils resulting in dry film thickness of 8-10
    mils.

20
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP 8 SECOND COAT of FINISH/TOP COATApply the
second coat of TOP COAT at a rate of 100-125
square feet per gallon per coat over the entire
roof surface. Wet film thickness of 12-15 mils
resulting in dry film thickness of 8-10 mils. Let
dry at least 24 hours before your Final
    Evaluation

21
METAL ROOF APPLICATION
  • STEP 9 FINAL EVALUATIONA detailed evaluation
of the completed job will determine the quality
of the workmanship and whether strict application
specifications have been met. Be sure to check
that all roof areas are completely coated and
sealed under permanently placed roof items such
as roof top air conditioning units. Divide roof
into 1,000 square feet sections and randomly
check one spot in each section for a dry film
thickness of at least 20 mils. If specifications
have not been met, determine how much material
will be required to meet specifications and
    recoat.
