Title: Lateral X-rays with ESS

1
Lateral X-rays with ESS
  • A test version is available in http//www.bo.infn
    .it/opera/scanning/lateralmarks/since the end of
    September.
  • Several laboratories started to use it providing
    constructive feedback.
  • The current recommended release is 42b (25 Oct
2007) and it was used for several scan-back and
    totalscan with the Computing Infrastructure
    instead of optical marks.
  • The full integration with the Computing
Infrastructure and DB will require multi-MarkSet
    support (lateral, optical, ).

2
First tests
  • common problems
  • - support needed
  • - evaluation of the initial markset template
  • - transformation from optical markset
  • - frequently usage of manual set (bug, mark
    segments outside the vacuum channel)
  • - segment finding problems (above the vacuum
    channel
  • - continuous monitor of the cloned mark
  • - reproducibility when mark is above the vacuum
    channel
  • - 2 mark point couldnt be enough
  • some advantages
  • scan of plate with bad optical marks
  • reduction of scan back time
  • brick intercalibration matrices close to the
    identity

3
Work in progress
  • A new version will be released in the next days
  • map string bug fixed mark side flag are 1 top or
    2 bottom
  • Integration with IDMap.dll
  • Integration with FlexMap3.dll at the level of
source code and configuration not working yet
  • New configuration parameters to choose how many
strip samples to be taken and their
    inter-distance.
  • Trial to deal with the clone problem
  • To be done
  • 180-degree plate rotation. Recovery option
  • Debug of optical mark
  • Mark-to-mark intercalibration
  • Optimization of parameters. Study of
    reproducibility.
