Marcos 1615 - 20
15 En aquel tiempo, se apareció Jesús a los
Once y les dijo Vayan por todo el mundo y
prediquen el Evangelio a toda creatura.
16 El que crea y se bautice, se salvará el
que se resista a creer, será condenado.
17 Estos son los milagros que acompañarán a los
que hayan creído arrojarán demonios en mi
nombre, hablarán lenguas nuevas,

18 cogerán serpientes en sus manos, y si beben
un veneno mortal, no les hará daño impondrán
las manos a los enfermos y éstos quedarán
sanos.
19 El Señor Jesús, después de hablarles, subió
al cielo y está sentado a la derecha de Dios.
20 Ellos fueron y proclamaron el Evangelio por
todas partes y el Señor actuaba con ellos y
confirmaba su predicación con los milagros que
hacían.

Mark 1615 - 20
15 Jesus appeared to the eleven apostles and
said, Go into the whole world and proclaim the
gospel to every creature.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be
saved whoever does not believe will be
condemned.
17 These signs will accompany those who believe
in my name they will drive out demons, they
will speak new languages.

18 They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not
harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and
they will recover.
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to
them, was taken up into heaven and took his
seat at the right hand of God.
20 But they went forth and preached
everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and
confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

Today is World Mission Sunday. The Gospel of
Mark tells us that after the resurrection Jesus
appeared to the Eleven Apostles and told them
Go to the whole world and preach the Gospel to
all creation. Note that is not only to humans
that we are to preach, but also to all creation
the mountains, and the hills, the rivers, and
the animals, the stars, the sun, the moon,
all creation!

Hoy es el domingo Mundial De Las Misiones. El
Evangelio de Marcos nos dice que después de la
resurrección, Jesús se le apareció a los Once
Apóstoles y les dijo Vayan a todo el mundo y
prediquen el Evangelio a toda la creación.
Noten que no solo hay que predicar a los
humanos, sino que también hay que predicar a
toda la creación a las montanas, a los cerros,
a los ríos, a los animales, a las estrellas,
al sol, a la luna, a toda la creación!

We know that the Apostles did just that. In the
Gospel of Matthew 2819 it says Go to the whole
world, teaching them everything that I have
taught you, baptizing them in the Name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
There it shows the importance of baptism. They
were to preach the Gospel (in Greek good news
euaggelion eu, good and aggello
announce good news).

Eso es precisamente lo que los Apóstoles
hicieron. En el Evangelio de Mateo Capitulo 28
versículo 19 dice Id, y haced discípulos a
todas las naciones, bautizándolas en el nombre
del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo,
enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os
he mandado. Allí también se indica la
importancia del bautismo. Iban a predicar el
Evangelio, (buena Noticia en Griego euaggelion
eu, bien y aggello Anunciar Buena
noticia).

The good news is that Jesus has come into the
world because the Father so loved us (John
316), that those who believe in him might not
perish. Salvation is offered us. And we have
to be baptized in order to begin the process of
salvation. He who believes and is baptized
will be saved. He who does not believe will be
condemned. No ifs, buts, or maybes. It is not
enough just to believe. We also have to be
baptized.

La buena noticia es que Jesús ha venido al mundo
porque tanto nos amo nuestro Padre celestial
(Juan 316), para que todo aquel que crea, no se
pierda, mas tenga vida eterna. La salvación se
nos ofrece. Tenemos que ser bautizados para
comenzar el proceso de la salvación. Todo aquel
que crea y sea bautizado se salvara. Aquel que
no crea, se condenara. Nada de condiciones,
claro esta. No es bastante nomás creer, también
hay que ser bautizados.

Moreover, it is not enough to be baptized. We
also have to live that baptism. That is what
all-church instruction should be all about. The
Apostles went all over their known world doing
just that. They were teaching what Jesus had
taught them. They knew what he meant. In
addition, they were consulted as to what they
knew. It is important to know what they knew.
Ignorance helps no one. Well did St. Jerome say
Ignorance of the holy scriptures is ignorance
of Christ.

Y no es bastante solo ser bautizados. También
hay que aprender como vivir ese bautismo. De eso
se debe tratar toda la instrucción de la
iglesia. Los Apóstoles fueron por todo el mundo
haciendo precisamente eso. Estaban enseñando lo
que Jesús les enseño. Ellos sabían lo que Él
quería decir. Y eran consultados acerca de lo
que sabían. Es importante saber lo que ellos
sabían. La ignorancia no ayuda a nadie. Bien
dijo San Jerónimo Ignorancia de la sagrada
escritura es ignorancia de Cristo.

The Lord confirmed their activity with signs and
wonders. They cast out demons in his name,
they prayed in tongues, they lay hands on the
sick and performed healing miracles they
raised people from the dead. I personally look
for the confirmation of the Lord in my ministry.
They are signs of Gods favor, Gods grace, and
Gods love. God loves me just as he loved the
Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Apostles, and
all the Saints and Martyrs.

El Señor confirma sus actividades con señas y
maravillas. Lanzaban demonios en su nombre,
oraban en diversas lenguas, imponían las manos
sobre los enfermos y los curaban milagrosamente
levantaban a los muertos. Yo (personalmente),
busco la confirmación de estas señas en mi
ministerio. Son señas del favor de Dios, de su
gracia, de su amor. Dios me ama igual que como
amaba a la Virgen Maria, y a los Apóstoles, y
a los Santos, y a los Mártires. Verdad?

This is what it means to say that Jesus sits at
the right hand of God. He is alive and
well. He is not just sitting there idle. He is
active, working all those miracles, inspiring
us through the Holy Spirit, coming to us at the
Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and in all the
sacraments.

Esto es lo que quiere decir cuando se dice que
Jesús esta sentado a la derecha de Dios. Esta
vivo y sano. Y no solo esta allí sin hacer
nada. Esta actuando, obrando todos esos
milagros, inspirándonos por el Espíritu Santo,
viniendo a nosotros en el Santo Sacrificio de la
Misa, y en todos los Sacramentos.

In Romans 114 St. Paul says, I am not
ashamed of the Gospel. It is the power of God
for the salvation of everyone who believes.
That means that when you speak the word of God,
you are offering enabling power to the hearer.
If the hearer grabs on to it and starts putting
it into practice, there is a release of energy.
All of a sudden, he is able to do things he
could not do before. It shows he was raised from
the dead, so to speak. He has been transformed.
He has changed from just a pagan to a new
Christian.

En Romanos 114 San Pablo dice Yo no me
avergüenzo del Evangelio. Es el poder de Dios
para la salvación de todo aquel que cree.
Quiere decir que cuando predicas la palabra de
Dios, estas ofreciendo la habilidad de poder
cambiar al oyente. Si el oyente se agarra de esa
palabra y comienza a ponerla en practica, se
suelta una Energía, (que es el Espíritu Santo).
Repentinamente puede hacer cosas que antes no
podía. Puede dejar vicios, pecados,
debilidades, etc. Muestra que se ha levantado
de la muerte. Se ha transformado con la gracia
de Dios. Se ha cambiado de ser un pagano a ser
un Cristiano.

In Luke 418 Jesus said The Spirit of the Lord
is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach
the good news to the poor. He has sent me to
proclaim release to the captives and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those
who are oppressed, and to proclaim the
acceptable year of the Lord.

En Lucas 418 Jesús dice El Espíritu Santo
está sobre mí, porque me ha ungido a predicar la
buena nueva a los pobres. Me ha mandado a
proclamar la libertad a los cautivos, y el
recobrar de la vista a los ciegos, y poner en
libertad al oprimido proclamando un año
agradable del Señor.

All of this happens in due time. Jesus went
about preaching and teaching in all the towns,
announcing the good news, casting out demons,
and healing those who were sick, healing the
blind, the lepers, the paralytics. He now
invites us to join him! It is such a privilege,
an honor! What a blessing, to witness all the
good things that happen when the good news of
Jesus Christ are preached to the whole world!

Todo esto sucede a su debido tiempo. Jesús iba
predicando y enseñando en todas los pueblos,
anunciando la buena nueva, lanzando demonios,
sanando a los enfermos, sanando a los ciegos, y
a los leprosos, y a los paralíticos. Ahora
nos invita a acompañarlo! Que privilegio,
que honor! Que bendición tan grande, ser
testigo de todas las buenas cosas que suceden
cuando la buena nueva de Jesucristo es proclamada
a todo el mundo!

Remember St. Teresa of Lisieux, who always
wanted to be a missionary, but she was a
cloistered nun. When she died, she said she
would spend her time in heaven doing good on
earth, by a shower of roses. Pope John Paul II
declared her a Doctor of the Church and the
Patron Saint of the Missions, together with St.
Francis Xavier, SJ.

Recuerden a Santa Teresa de Lesieux, que siempre
quería ser misionera, pero era una monja de
clausura. Cuando murió profetizo que iba a pasar
su tiempo en el cielo haciendo el bien sobre la
tierra, mandando una lluvia de rosas. El Papa
Juan Pablo II la declaro Doctora de la Iglesia y
Santa Patrona de las Misiones junto con San
Francisco Javier, SJ.

You too, can be a missionary right inside your
home by your prayers for the Missions, and by
living a good Christian life and being good
example to your family, neighbors and
co-workers. Pray In union with the Holy Father
the Pope. Pray to Jesus through the Immaculate
Heart of Mary. This can be in union with the
Sacrifice of the Mass.

Puedes ser misionero hasta dentro de tu casa al
estar en oración por las Misiones, viviendo una
buena vida Crisriana y siendo un buen exemplo
para tu familia, tus vecinos, y tus compañeros
de trabajo. Reza en unión con el Santo Padre
el Papa. Rézale a Jesús por el Inmaculado
Corazón de Maria. Reza en unión con el Santo
Sacrificio de la Misa.

If you are homebound, remember that we are one
in the Spirit, and that you are entering into
communion with all the Saints. Remember, Mary
(Lazarus Marthas sister) who sat at the feet
of the Lord (Luke 1042). Jesus said, she had
taken the better part and it would not be
removed from her.

Si tu no puedes salir de casa, recuerda que
somos uno en el Espíritu Santo, y que tú estas
en comunión con todos los Santos. Recuerda a
Maria (la hermana de Lazaro y Marta) la que se
sentó a los pies del Señor (Lucas 1042). El
Señor dijo, que ella había escogido lo mejor
parte y no se le quitaría.

If you have a chance to visit the Blessed
Sacrament, be involved in Eucharistic Adoration,
or say the Rosary, you will be in communion
with all the saints in glory, living on earth,
including all missionaries, and those living
in heaven.

Si tienes una oportunidad de visitar al Santísimo
Sacramento del Altar, o ir a la Adoración del
Santísimo, o decir el Santo Rosario, puedes
estar en comunión con todos los santos en la
gloria los que viven en la tierra incluyendo
misioneros, y los que viven en el cielo.
