Tanach and Quran

• The Tanakh
• also Tenakh or Tenak) is a name used in Judaism
  for the canon of the Hebrew Bible. The Tanakh is
  also known as the Masoretic Text or the Miqra.
  The name "Tanakh" is a Hebrew acronym formed from
  the initial Hebrew letters of the Masoretic
  Text's three traditional subdivisions The Torah
  ("Teaching", also known as the Five Books of
  Moses), Nevi'im ("Prophets") and Ketuvim
  ("Writings")hence TaNaKh. The name "Miqra" (
  ????) is a Hebrew word for the Tanakh, meaning
  "that which is read", derived from the word qara
  " ???" meaning to read aloud. The elements of the
  Tanakh are incorporated in various forms in
  Christian Bibles, in which, with some variations,
  it is called the "Old Testament". The Old
  Testament typically is not printed with the
  traditional Hebrew subdivisions, though the
  distinction "Law and the Prophets" is used
  several times in the New Testament.1
• According to the Talmud,2 much of the contents
  of the Tanakh were compiled by the "Men of the
  Great Assembly" by 450 BCE, and have since
  remained unchanged.

• The Holy Quran
• is the central religious verbal text of
  Islam,1. Muslims believe the Quran to be the
  verbal book of divine guidance and direction for
  mankind, and consider the original Arabic verbal
  text to be the final revelation of God
• Islam holds that the Quran was repeatedly
  revealed from Allah to Muhammad orally through
  the angel Jibril (Gabriel). Followers of Islam
  further believe that the Quran was memorized,
  recited and written down by Muhammad's companions
  after every revelation dictated by Muhammad. Most
  of Muhammad's companions, tens of thousands,
  learned the Quran by heart. Muslim tradition
  agrees that although the Quran was authentically
  memorized completely by tens of thousands
  verbally, the Quran was still established
  textually into a single book form shortly after
  Muhammad's death by order of the first Caliph Abu
  Bakr suggested by his future successor Umar.8

  shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth

  'Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance
  shall be taken on him sevenfold.' And the LORD
  set a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should
  smite him. 16 And Cain went out from the presence
  of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the
  east of Eden.

• Quran, sura 5 Al-Maida
• 27 But recite unto them with truth the tale of
  the two sons of Adam, how they offered each a
  sacrifice, and it was accepted from the one of
  them and it was not accepted from the other. (The
  one) said I will surely kill thee. (The other)
  answered Allah accepteth only from those who
  ward off (evil).28 Even if thou stretch out thy
  hand against me to kill me, I shall not stretch
  out my hand against thee to kill thee, lo! I fear

  to hide his brother's naked corpse. He said Woe
  unto me! Am I not able to be as this raven and so
  hide my brother's naked corpse ? And he became
  repentant.32 For that cause We decreed for the
  Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human
  being for other than manslaughter or corruption
  in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all
  mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it
  shall be as if he had saved the life of all
  mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old
  with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but
  afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in
  the earth.

• 99 And he said Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who

  son. 102 And when (his son) was old enough to
  walk with him, (Abraham) said O my dear son, I
  have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee.
  So look, what thinkest thou ? He said O my
  father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah
  willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 103
  Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah),
  and he had flung him down upon his face, 104 We
  called unto him O Abraham! 105 Thou hast already
  fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the
  good. 106 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 107
  Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim.
  108 And We left for him among the later folk (the
  salutation) 109 Peace be unto Abraham! 110 Thus
  do We reward the good. 111 Lo! he is one of Our
  believing slaves. 112 And we gave him tidings of
  the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous.
  113 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their
  seed are some who do good, and some who plainly
  wrong themselves.

• 124 And (remember) when his Lord tried Abraham
  with (His) commands, and he fulfilled them, He
  said Lo! I have appointed thee a leader for
  mankind. (Abraham) said And of my offspring
  (will there be leaders) ? He said My covenant
  includeth not wrong-doers. 125 And when We made
  the House (at Makka) a resort for mankind and
  sanctuary, (saying) Take as your place of
  worship the place where Abraham stood (to pray).
  And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and Ishmael,
  (saying) Purify My house for those who go around
  and those who meditate therein and those who bow
  down and prostrate themselves (in worship). 126
  And when Abraham prayed My Lord! Make this a
  region of security and bestow upon its people
  fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the
  Last Day, He answered As for him who
  disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment
  for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom
  of Fire - a hapless journey's end! 127 And when
  Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations
  of the House, (Abraham prayed) Our Lord! Accept
  from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the
  Hearer, the Knower. 128 Our Lord! And make us
  submissive unto Thee and of our seed a nation
  submissive unto Thee, and show us our ways of
  worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only
  Thou, art the Relenting, the Merciful. 129 Our
  Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger
  from among them who shall recite unto them Thy
  revelations, and shall instruct them in the
  Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow.
  Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise. 130
  And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save
  him who befooleth himself ? Verily We chose him
  in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is
  among the righteous. 131 When his Lord said unto
  him Surrender! he said I have surrendered to
  the Lord of the Worlds.

  eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham
  said unto his young men 'Abide ye here with the
  ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and we
  will worship, and come back to you.' 6 And

  laid it upon Isaac his son and he took in his
  hand the fire and the knife and they went both
  of them together. 7 And Isaac spoke unto Abraham
  his father, and said 'My father.' And he said

  fire and the wood but where is the lamb for a
  burnt-offering?' 8 And Abraham said 'God will
  provide Himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my
  son.' So they went both of them together. 9 And
  they came to the place which God had told him of

  wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid
  him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 And Abraham
  stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to

  Abraham.' And he said 'Here am I.' 12 And he
  said 'Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do
  thou any thing unto him for now I know that thou

  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and
  behold behind him a ram caught in the thicket by
  his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and
  offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead
  of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of
  that place Adonai-jireh as it is said to this
  day 'In the mount where the LORD is seen.' 15
  And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham a
  second time out of heaven, 16 and said 'By
  Myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, because thou
  hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy
  son, thine only son, 17 that in blessing I will
  bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply
  thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the
  sand which is upon the seashore and thy seed
