Frankenstein
First published in 1818, written by Mary
Shelley. Recently Frankenstein monster appeared
in Van Helsing in 2004. The monster is often
mistakenly called Frankenstein when it was the
mad scientist who is Frankenstein. Frankenstein
was written as a contest between Mary Shelley,
her husband Percy Shelley, and Lord Byron. It is
thought to also be the first example of science
fiction.
