Functions of Illustrations 1. In a group of 3,
select a book that you have not read. Cover up
the text and as a group make predictions about
book based on illustrations. 2. Write a summary
of the book including its, plot, setting,
characters and mood. (The designated writer will
record group ideas) 3. Read the text aloud and
compare illustrations with your predictions.
