Our Mothers Day Rose Sale can be one of the
most important projects that we hold each year
both from the standpoint of good public relations
and monies it produces for the benefit of our
Childrens Charities. The roses are 15 per
dozen. Each member takes orders from friends,
neighbors, church, etc. Orders must be turned in
by May 3rd. The roses are delivered Friday
morning, May 11th, then packaged for pick up. Our
weekly meeting will be moved from Thursday (May
10th) to Friday (May 11th) to enable us to
deliver the roses one day closer to Mothers Day
which is May 13th. The committee members are Jay
Ambler, Lal Ramdeen, and Max Booke.
What an easy way to promote Kiwanis. Can we
count on YOU?

Heavenly Father Help us to forget our errors
and blunders, for tomorrow is another day when we
can begin anew. Help us to focus on what we can
do and how we can apply our abilities to help
others. Give us long-range goals to keep us from
being frustrated by short-range failures. And
now bless this food to our use and us to Your
service. Amen

Robert Nozza , PhD
Our guest speaker, Dr. Nozza joined
JSHC in 2005 as Clinical Director and CEO. He is
an audiologist with significant professional
experience including extensive teaching
experience in the field of Speech and Hearing
Sciences, and has published many research
articles. The JSHC was founded in 1949, as one
of the first speech and hearing centers to serve
children in Northeast Florida. Over the past 57
years, the Center has provided professional
compassionate care to literally thousands of
children and adults on the First Coast, providing
them with high quality audiology and
speech/pathology services regardless of their
ability to pay. Thank you Dr. Nozza for your

--- a feel-good, toe-taping, nostalgic, musical
trip down memory lane to the patriotism of the
1940s. It is a fun show that mimics the USO
tours during the second world war. Pretty girls,
great old songs, and lots of fun. Tap your feet
to classics like Juke Box Saturday Night, In the
Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Ill Be Seeing You,
Dont Sit Under the Apple Tree, And more! The
music you maybe fell in love by. If you
know a WWII vet that wants to attend they must
call 249-7177 and make a reservation to see the
show on May 3rd. There is limited seating, so
those who call later may not get in. There will
be food and great entertainment for these special
guests. For everyone else that would like to
see this great show, we offer senior and active

APRIL INTERCLUB Our April Interclub event
was at the Arlington Club on Wednesday, April
18th. John Bates, Jay Ambler, Charles Bender,
John Meighan and Bill Montgomery enjoyed a good
lunch and fellowship with fellow Kiwanians at the
Jax University meeting site. We also enjoyed a
talk by a young teenager who has a heart for the
children of DARFUR, SUDAN, AFRICA. Thousands are
the victims of genocide in DARFUR with little
effective help from the outside world.
P.S. Flag your
calendars for the evening of May 17th. Our next
Interclub will be combined with our quarterly
Division Council meeting (DCM) at the Fernandina
Beach Club.
